Vintage double weight reference photograph from the 1935 film, showing director Jean Renoir and actors Charles Blavette and Celia Montalvan on location during filming of the 1935 film. With the stamps of photographer Roger Corbeau and Cinemonde to the verso.
Renoir's seventh sound film, and an early example of the director's influence on both the French Left Bank and Italian neorealist movements. Renoir cast primarily non-professional actors and shot on location to craft the story of a group of immigrants working in a small town in Provence.
Set and shot on location in the south of France.
