    This tap has
    been field tested and performs flawlessly under high vacuum with 5/16” tubing.
    For insertion, our 2 lb. slide hammer grips the neck of the tap and will solidly
    seat it into a 5/16” drilled hole in the tree. This can be accomplished with or
    without the tubing connected to the spout. The same hammer is an effective
    spout removal tool at the season’s end. The taps can then be boiled (preferably
    along with a bulk tank cleaning acid) and they are prepared for repetitive duty
    season after season.
