    Description

It is such an incredible feeling to drive this amazing piece of American Automotive History!  Consider for a moment that this is a pre-war, meaning pre World War I, built vehicle and it deserves a level of respect based on that alone!  To further prove that this was built to stand the test of time, this truly beautiful machine, this 1941 Series 62 Cadillac Coupe, represents just one of a rather small total of only approx. 1,900 originally made.  After looking rather extensively over the past few months, we have found only four others that have been put on the open market and the condition of each was widely varied.  One being labeled a "rat rod" with multi-colored layers of primer and bondo, another being almost completely and damn near perfectly restored to another with trees literally growing through the body we felt it fair to list this one as being in good condition considering the vintage.  The  mileage is showing 89,535 and it is quite honestly truly unknown.  A few items have been altered including the engine and transmission which have seen the originals replaced by a 350 Oldsmobile engine and three speed auto trans from the same and a hurst shifter was added on the floor as it can be seen in the pics.  The original fender skirts have been removed and although the tail lights are Cadillac lights, they are from a more recent model year.  The original gages and speedometer do work and as you can see in the pics there have been several newer gages added, likely done for safety as true accuracy of the originals would have been unknown prior.  Any of the mechanical, body and interior alterations were done prior to the current ownership and although there were some great intentions, no work other than routine maintenance was performed under the current ownership.  Some changes in health have very unfortunately resulted in the owner no longer being able to drive and truly enjoy this head turner so it is with a very heavy heart that he has been forced to make the decision to put the car up for sale.   It would not be fair to another enthusiast or to the vehicle to keep it hidden away when it should be proudly driven down the road, admired and enjoyed as it was meant to be.  We will be happy to answer any questions to the best of our knowledge.  Happy bidding!
