    The squadron operated under the
    118th Tactical Airlift Group which
    was activated on 1 July 1960 at
    McGhee-Tyson Airport, Knoxville,
    Tennessee operating under Head-
    quarters, Tennessee Air National Guard
    On 9 February 1975 the 118th CAMS
    was placed under the 118th Tactical
    Airlift Wing
    On 15 March 1992 the wing was redesig-
    nated
    as the 118th Airlift Wing
    The 118th CAMS was activated in the
    early 1960s; it performed maintenance
    on C-97, C-124 and C-130 aircraft
    This seldom-seen patch with a unique
    design was made in 1970
